Press Release
The National Audiovisual Institute Ramps up its Digital Transformation with Exalead®
Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) announced today that its subsidiary, Exalead, the European leader in search and information access software for the enterprise and the Web, has signed an agreement with France’s National Audiovisual Institute (INA, Institut National de l’Audiovisuel). The INA chose the Exalead CloudView® platform to build a number of applications, including new services for Web visitors (Ina.fr), collaborators (Totem), and professional clients (Inamédiapro.com). A Single Solution Offering Performance, Scalability and Proven Usability
Highly conscious of the opportunities in the rapidly changing landscape of online video consumption, and driven by a need for consistency in its information systems, the INA chose Exalead CloudView as the platform through which all of its applications and their users would access INA content. The Exalead solution stood out among the competition in terms of performance, agility and user experience, which is what the INA needed to address these new challenges.
Today, with Exalead CloudView, the INA can index all of its bibliographic entries, which are distributed among several heterogeneous databases. The INA's information assets represent tens of millions of bibliographic entries, including more than 100,000 television and radio programs and 200,000 commercials.
Three Different Applications for Three Different Audiences
Exalead and the INA are working together on three applications:
- Ina.fr and Boutique Ina.fr: On the Ina.fr site, launched one year ago, users can search through 40 years of French audiovisual archives. Thanks to the multilingual capabilities of Exalead CloudView, several million new entries have gradually been added, and are now available to all. On the INA's e-commerce site, boutique.ina.fr, Exalead ensures product promotion and cross-selling.
- Totem: An internal application supporting the research work of information specialists and archivists.
- Inamédiapro: A service for professionals (to be launched in 2011) that will offer enhanced access to tens of millions of INA bibliographic entries, videos, and radio broadcasts.
